Advaita Vedanta/Adi Shankaracharya

Shankara explains that the speed of transformation is due to the power of self-knowledge combined with devotion. Once the resolve is made, the accumulated karmic momentum of sin is swiftly destroyed, just as a massive blaze quickly consumes fuel. Eternal peace (śāśvat śānti) is the natural state of the Self, restored when the clouds of sin part.
