The bhakti tradition finds here a gentle redirection: the real Giver behind every gift is God. Madhva explains that while the devotee credits the deity, it is actually Vishnu who ordains all fruits. Abhinavagupta teaches that faith creates resonance between consciousness and its object — all worship is ultimately consciousness worshipping itself.
